Media Comments:
James Rae has written so much for saxophones and here he comes forward with yet another enjoyable album, arranged skilfully as always, and containing some instructive as well as pleasing tunes. My team of helpers voted this a great book. One of their main comments was that the layout and printing were very clear which they said made the playing so much more pleasant. A favourite was Purcell's "Rondeau" from Abdelazar, better known to many of us as the theme from A Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra. All the numbers fit both tenor and alto saxes equally well which is unusual in such an album. (…) The piano parts are well cast and lie under the hands comfortably. The mix of classical and jazz styles is appealing to the player. A good addition to the teaching repertoire.
